Workshops
The workshops aim to empower young art students through interdisciplinary knowledge transfer, emphasizing the importance of the green transition and environmentally friendly practices in contemporary applied arts. It inspire creativity, foster co-production, and strengthen connections with European cultural heritage and practices.
We organized five cross-sectoral workshops in the partner countries for art school students. During the workshops, young participants learned to work with innovative tools and solutions with long-term positive impacts on their careers and mastered new creative ways to tackle environmental challenges based on traditional handicraft methods and techniques. At the beginning of each workshop, a guest educator from a partner country visited an educational institute in another partner country and delivered practice-oriented lectures on specific subjects related to the fields of traditional craft techniques and intangible cultural heritage know-how of their own country. The task of the different school groups was to create new design products relying on the previous lectures and their own research, with the assistance of local teachers/educators specializing in the traditional art and culture of the partner country. In these works, they unified tradition with modern trends. They created contemporary artworks based on traditional knowledge, filled tradition with modern meaning using cutting-edge technologies, and, in the process, deepened their understanding of European heritage.
